Respect Education Program covered Schools reunited for the first time.

The Integrated Mindanaons Association for Natives in close partnership with the Respect Education programme conducted Children’s Camp in Nangaan Elementary School, Barangay Nangaan, Kabacan North Cotabato last October 23-24, 2015, bearing the theme “Respect towards Peace”. The said activity was attended by seven (7) schools covered by the project consist of Nangaan Elementary School, Pedtad Elementary School, Siento Trenta Elementary School, Buluan Elementary School, Batungkayo Elementary School, Pagagawan Elementary School and Matalam Farm Settlement Elementary School for a total of 180 participants including IMAN Staffs.
The Former Mayor of Municipality of Kabacan, Luzviminda Tan also attended the said event. According to her, “people should not judge the person by how it looks but it should be by what they can do”. She also added, that “Respect is the key to having peace inside and out. Activities like this will truly help and benefits the children to boost their self-esteem as well as enhanced their knowledge towards peace”, she added.
The 2-day camping offered several parlor games and lecture initiated to give the pupils a chance to display their talents, build their team work and especially to educate them more pertaining to Respect Education. The highlight of the said event was the group activities that unite and showcase camaraderie between the pupils of different schools.
The show up of the different candidates from the school in the highly anticipated search for the very first ever Little Binibini and Ginoong Respect wow the crowd of the community of Nangaan. The talent, different attires and question and answer portion was filled with chants and yells from the crowd. In the end, the pupils from Pedtad Elementary School bring home the crown.
According to Normeda, a pupil from Nangaan, in the 2 days activity, she found a friend in another school. Ebrahim, a pupil from Pedtad Elementary School said that “I am very happy to be part of this camp because I was able to meet new people and have friends”. The camping helps me boost my confidence in term of leading my team in the sack race competition, Jerome added.
Children’s Camp was successfully celebrated and it gave a wonderful experience to the pupils that they will never forget.
